Manchester City exploring blockbuster summer move for Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich, and have interest in Jamal Musiala, as Pep Guardiola seeks reunion with Germany international.
The Athletic have reported that Pep Guardiola could been keen on a potential reunion with Kimmich who he worked with during his stint at the German club.
The report suggests that while a close source to the Premier League refuted the interest in a January transfer, a summer move could very well be a possibility. As for Musiala, the Athletic suggests that Man City may only try to go for the youngster if he refuses a contract extension with the Bavarians.
Kimmich has often been linked with a move away from Bayern due to his expertise as both a right-back and a defensive midfielder. Musiala is also seen as a future superstar, perhaps explaining the City’s interest.
Bayern currently sit second in the league five points off Bayer Leverkusen. City on the the other hand also sit five points off league leaders Liverpool. Both will be out to usurp their nearest contenders before the end of the season.
Guardiola’s men will next be in action when they take on Brentford away from home on Monday, February 5 as they look to reduce the gap between themselves and leaders Liverpool.
