To bridge the funding gap and empower one million women to grow successful businesses, the Workplace Women, a non-governmental organisation, has kickstarted its maiden edition to enable budding entrepreneurs access up to N50 million for their business growth.

The initiative, Pitch-a-Fix, designed to provide funding and entrepreneurial development to female entrepreneurs first in Nigeria and in other parts of the world, will enable 20 female finalists to access funds either through debt investment or equity this year.

The programme is one of the key outlets through which Workplace Women aim at fulfilling its mission to nurture and empower one million women for the workplace by 2035.

The Workplace Women was conceived in response to the need of women who, either for the sake of fulfilling their career pursuits or for the need to support their families, have found themselves at work but struggle with the dynamics and oftentimes, the shenanigans of the workplace.

Speaking about the initiative, founder, Kelechi Mbah stated that Workplace Women was conceived in response to the need of women who, either for the sake of fulfilling their career pursuits or for the need to support their families, have found themselves at work but struggle with the dynamics and oftentimes the complexities at the workplace.

“Our goal is to ensure that every woman is equipped enough to be efficient at what they do, manage the dual pressure of work and family with a healthy balance and lead fulfilled lives. As an initiative founded on empowerment, inclusivity, and economic growth, Workplace Women seek to revolutionise access to opportunities for all women, whether as an employee or an employer of labour.

“Dedicated to transforming the landscape for women in the workplace, we foster an environment where innovation, leadership, and success are within reach for every aspiring woman entrepreneur,” she added.
