Force PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, said while acting on intelligence after getting information on the hideout of a notorious bandit group in the suburbs of the FCT, led by one Isa Dei-Dei, the police operatives proceeded to the location for possible arrest at about 10:15am on February 5, 2024.

“Upon closing in on them, they sighted the police and fled. The operatives went after them, which led to a fierce gun duel. In the process, the notorious Isa Dei-Dei was neutralised while other members of the syndicate managed to escape with gunshot injuries,” he said.

The police also called on residents and medical practitioners to be on the lookout for persons with gunshot injuries and report to the nearest police station.

According to Olumuyiwa, “We therefore urge members of the public, most especially medical practitioners, to call our attention to anyone or patients seen with gunshot wounds for further investigation.”
