Natives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the auspices of Gbagyi/Gbari Youth Association have expressed concern on the resurgence of insecurity in the territory, and urged the minister, Nyesom Wike, to extend protection of lives and property to rural communities.
The natives who spoke during a media briefing led by their president, Comrade Nuhu Dodondawa Auta in Abuja, said the pervasive insecurity affects both rural and urban areas, and that the federal government should take measures to put an end to insecurity in the FCT.
“We call on FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike to swiftly address and improve the security landscape in the region to prevent further harm to our people.
“Regrettably, Gbaukuchi near Aco Estate along the airport road witnessed the loss of two vibrant youths and one elderly person, while two women and one man were kidnapped with no successful rescue attempts to date.
“We appreciate minister Nyesom Wike’s engagement with stakeholders, including traditional rulers and chairmen, but emphasise the need for comprehensive measures to restore safety.
“In unity, we seek the restoration of peace and security in FCT for the well-being of all citizens,” they said.
