A group, Omaluegwuoku Progressive Initiative (OPI) has enjoined the people of the South East to critically consider the personal qualities and experience profiles of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candi, Asiwaju Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima.

It stated this during a town hall meeting in Calabar, led by the convener Ambassador Mrs. Ginika Tor.

Tor said the project “IGBO KWENU 4 ASIWAJU”, is a brainchild of Omaluegwuoku Progressive Initiative to drum up support for the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

At the press briefing, she said Igbo Kwenu 4 Asiwaju was borne out of her passion to bring South Easterners on board the Asiwaju Presidential project, galvanize their interests in massively voting for Asiwaju/Shetima ticket and ensure that the Ibos do not make the past mistakes of voting wrongly.

She emphasized that Igbos had in the past made wrong electoral calculations and that is why they seem to be marginalised.

Tor, who recalled that the Igbos have voted for the PDP since 1999, noted that PDP refused to reward the region for their loyalty with the Presidential candidate.

She urged the Igbo to vote massively for a Southern candidate in the person of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for a better Nigeria.

She further said that 2023 is a time to get it right and the Ibos must take a bold step to align with Asiwaju on this journey devoid of sentiments and emotions.

Tor said that Asiwaju should be considered based on his past antecedents, his laudable achievements which has positioned him as a true patriot and nationalist whose capacity and competence is not in doubt. She said “how can you vote uncertainty against certainty”.

According to her Asiwaju laid the foundation for a modern Lagos State between 1999-2007 and leap frogged the IGR from a paltry N600m per month to over N10B monthly and it is upon that foundation that successive administrations of Lagos state have leveraged to continue to deliver dividends of democracy to Lagosians.

She “further enjoined the good people of the South East to critically consider the personal qualities and experience profiles of Asiwaju and his running mate Senator Shettima.
