The Niger State police command has debunked  a video circulated on social media that trucks conveying foodstuff to the southern part of Nigeria were blocked at Kara-Jebba, Mokwa area of the state.

A statement by the command’s spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun,  said yesterday; “The command wishes to state that the video is about five years ago, and there was no stoppage or blockage of trucks conveying goods or animals from Minna.”

He said on Friday  at about 21:00hrs, a Toyota Dyna mini truck with Reg. No. BDG 178 XF conveying cattle to Kwara State had a minor accident at the quarantine checkpoint in Jebba North, and it resulted in evacuating the animals to another vehicle which caused a little gridlock and after the evacuation, there was free flow of traffic.

He added that there was no attempt or outright blockage by any individual or group of persons or agencies at the Kara-Jebba area of Mokwa as insinuated in the video.

The police in the statement urged the members of the public  to disregard the video, adding that  it was circulated by mischief makers to cause chaos in the state and the nation.
