A cleric, Prophet George Oluwoye, has said the only way to tackle the worsening security and economic crisis in Nigeria is for the citizens to commit the affairs of the country into the hands of God.
Oluwoye, who is the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Peace and Mercy (Ori-Oke Aanu), made the appeal when he addressed the congregation during the 20th anniversary celebration of the church, in Osogbo.
He said apart from prayers, praise is another effective way of communicating with God and getting His attention to rescue Nigerians from whatever situation they have found themselves.
Prophet Oluwoye stressed the need for Nigerian leaders and followers to return to God to solve the challenges facing the nation, saying no human being can end Nigeria’s problems.
At the event, the Alara of Ara Kingdom, Oba Olubayo Adesola Windapo, who lamented the rising cases of killing and kidnapping, called on the federal government to channel security votes of states and local governments to local authorities to empower them.
On the gruesome murder of traditional rulers in Ekiti and Kwara States, the monarch insisted that monarchs understand the nooks and crannies of their domains than governors and local government chairmen, hence, they were in the best position to ensure the security of life and property of the people.
He said, “It is the local authorities, the Obas and chiefs that should be paid, we are the ones that can tell you how our terrain is.”
