ATBU To Graduate 19,252 Students

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) will on Saturday graduate 19,252 students at its main campus at Gubi, Bauchi.

A breakdown of the graduands indicated that the institution has 404 diploma graduates, 15, 460 first degrees for the convocation, post graduate diploma has 1, 653 students, with 1, 559 Masters and 176 for PhDs.

The vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Muhammad Ahmad Abdul’aziz, gave a breakdown of the convocation showing the classes of degrees obtained by the combined graduands as 1st Class  337; 2nd Class Upper 5,489; 2nd Class Lower 7,241; 3rd Class is 1,867, while pass has 526 students, thus giving a total of 15,460 graduands.

Abdul’aziz at the pre-convocation press briefing yesterday, said that the University Senate has also approved for the award of honorary Doctorate degrees, stressing, “We are all set for a remarkable convocation ceremony. We invite you to be part of this important academic exercise and to report it diligently.”

He acknowledged the tremendous contribution media organisations have made towards the growth and development of the university over the years, and noted the laudable cooperation by individual and collective media organisations, and urged the symbiotic relationship to continue for the development of education in Bauchi State and the country as a whole.

He said, “This is to inform all  2017-2018,  2018-2019, 2020-2021, 2021-2022 graduates of the University, their parents and the general public that the 2017-2018,  2018-2019, 2020-2021, 2021-2022 Combined Convocation Ceremony is slated for Saturday 24th February, 2024.”
