Bauchi Releases N2bn For Digitisation Of Radio, TV Stations

Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has disbursed over ₦2.6 billion for the total overhaul of state-owned media houses to improve their operations in promoting the policies and programmes of the government as well as ensuring societal orientation and development.

Governor Mohammed stated this while speaking at a retreat organised by the office of the special adviser, Media and Publicity, for members of the Government House Press Crew in Jos.

The retreat with the theme, “Press Crew Members and Tasks of Effective Coverage of Government Policies and Programmes in the Emerging Challenges of 21st Century Journalism” was informed by the state government’s determination to improve the capacity of the press crew.

He said fostering a better collaboration between government and the media in the state remained the commitment of his administration.

The governor who was represented by the commissioner for Information and Communication, Comrade Usman Danturaki expressed commitment to the welfare of working journalists to encourage productivity.
