Army Sets Up Probe Panel On Killing Of Police Officer In Lagos

The Nigerian Army has constituted a board of inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding the clash between soldiers and police officers in Lagos, leading to the death of a police officer.

The acting deputy director, public relations, 81 Division, Major Olaniyi Osoba, said the division regretted the incident given its disposition and zero tolerance for any misconduct.

He added that the division had gotten in touch with the Lagos State police command to resolve the matter.

“Accordingly, the division has instituted a board of inquiry to unravel the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident  At the end of the investigation, anyone found culpable  will be made to face the full wrath of the disciplinary provisions. Consequently, the division wishes to commiserate with the Ojo Police Division and members of the family of the victim,” Osoba said.
