The Olusegun Odunmbaku administration in Ojudo local government area of Lagos State in conjunction with the Federation of ECOWAS Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE) organised a seminar on advocacy for gender inclusion and women entrepreneurship as part of activities to celebrate the International Women’s Day in Ojodu yesterday.
The event aimed to empower women in Ojodu LCDA and encourage their active participation in business and social development.
The seminar featured various distinguished speakers from FEBWE and panelists like the Consular General of Ghana who shared their knowledge and experiences on women empowerment, gender equality, and entrepreneurship. They discussed the challenges faced by women in starting and running a business and provided valuable insights on how to overcome these challenges.
National Coordinator of FEBWE, Mrs Omotola Omole and Consular General of The Ghana High Commission, Mrs Samantha Gift Bukhari also highlighted the importance of gender inclusion in all aspects of society, from education to employment and leadership, they also stressed the need for equal opportunities for women and the recognition of their contributions to the community’s progress.
Chairperson of Ojodu LCDA, Mrs Abimbola Odunmbaku who also got inaugurated as member of FEBWE said empowering women in entrepreneurship, as well as in pursuit of gender equality breaks down barriers that hinder the progress of women in business, to pave the way for a future where every woman can thrive as an entrepreneur, innovator, and leader.
Also present were APC LGA Chair, Alhaja Stella Kokumo whom also got inaugurated as FEBWE member, Ojodu LCDA APC Treasurer, Princess Lola Bashorun, Ojodu LCDA APC Women Leader, Alhaja Bukky Badmus, FEBWE Executives and Ojodu Women.
