APC Confirms Ganduje’s Resignation As Party’s National Chairman

Following the crisis rocking the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Edo State after the recently concluded primaries, President Bola Tinubu has been called upon to address the issues swiftly so as to calm tensions ahead of the September governorship election.
A retired justice and APC chieftain, Chief Bensiru Imoudu, who said this yesterday in Abuja, added that since last month after the recently concluded APC primaries to pick the governorship candidate in Edo state, there has been tension in the party.
“Though disagreements are not strange in politics, we are shocked that some aspirants have gone to court. Only Mr President can resolve this matter and calm all angry nerves.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to invite the leaders and aspirants to a peace meeting to resolve this issue.
“It is also very important to let the President know that zoning is sacrosanct in Edo state. It is beyond the parties, it is the body language of the people to zone offices just like Ondo state and many others,” Bensiru Imoudu stated.

Boasting that the party has a big chance to produce the next governor of the state, the Edo born APC Chieftain said unless the crisis was resolved early enough, “we may be on our way to losing the state to opposition.”

Imoudu advised party leaders to come together and embrace peace so that Edo will be in the news for the good reasons again.
The APC primaries have thrown up Monday Okpebholo, Dennis Idahosa and Anamero Dekeri as candidates of the party, with Idahosa and Dekeri challenging the National Headquarters of the party for declaring Okpebholo as the authentic winner and candidate of the party. The crisis deepened when the former Governor and leader of the party in the state thrown his support behind Idahosa.
While Idahosa hails from Edo South, the zone where the incumbent governor comes from, Okpebholo is from Edo Central while Dekeri comes from Edo North.
