The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Hon Idi Barde Gubana, disclosed this during his visit to affected communities in Jakusko, Yusufari, Bade and Nguru local government areas to assess the ravage caused by flood in the state.

Buni called on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to come to the aid of the affected communities considering the magnitude of the flood as it affects many parts of the state.

While sympathising with the affected communities at Jakusko and Girgir, the deputy governor said the government was very much concerned about their situation saying, it’s a collective disaster to the whole state and the state government would do everything possible to alleviate their suffering.
He urged the communities to be patient and fervently pray to God to bring succour to the people, adding, “We will try our best to help the flood victims across the state.”

The deputy also visited the Emirs of Bade, Jakusko, Yusufar and Nguru Emirate Councils as well as Bula Jaji community where he symphatised with the victims and presented immediate relief materials to cushion the effect of the disaster.

While appreciating the efforts so far made to bring succour to the affected people, the council chairmen and stakeholders of the affected areas called for more assistance as many of the affected people have been rendered homeless.
