Organisers of medical laboratory platform, Medlab West Africa, has announced that the event will now be held in Lagos as a standalone event alongside Pharmaconex West Africa.
According to the organisers, the event scheduled for April, at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, aims to reshape healthcare delivery and accelerate innovation across the region.

Also, the organisers disclosed that the convergence of the duo (Medlab West Africa and Pharmaconex West Africa) promises to offer opportunities for industry professionals and businesses to collaborate and drive positive change within the medical laboratory and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors.
Recent reports by the registrar of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria have highlighted the dire situation of healthcare professionals leaving the country, with over 10,000 medical laboratory scientists migrating abroad, making the healthcare infrastructure severely fragile and in desperate need of innovation and personnel investment.

In response to this pressing need, Medlab West Africa said it aims to provide a dedicated platform to address the evolving needs of the medical laboratory sector.
According to the senior exhibition director, Medlab Series, Mr Tom Coleman, the return of Medlab will develop and strengthen healthcare infrastructure in West Africa.

He said, “The return of Medlab West Africa marks a significant step forward in our mission to empower the West African medical laboratory sector. We are contributing to strengthening the region’s healthcare infrastructure, improving patient outcomes, and creating a vibrant ecosystem where knowledge and expertise congregate.”

Also, the group exhibition director of Pharmaconex, Mostapha Khalil, said, “We are thrilled to bring Pharmaconex West Africa to Nigeria, and by co-locating with Medlab West Africa, we are creating a unique opportunity for stakeholders across the entire healthcare ecosystem to come together.”
