The renowned academic said it was unfair that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) caused the federal government to promulgate a law to get companies to pay education tax now referred to as TETFUND but private universities which are helping government to develop education are excluded from the fund.
Professor Iche said it was not a crime that some people choose to study or teach in a private university in the country, hence the need for the federal government to allow private universities to benefit from TETFUND.

He described Evangel University as a “not for profit university” that charges the lowest fee among universities in the country, adding that despite the small fee they charge, they have been paying the salaries of workers regularly.
