Banditry: What I Told DSS Operatives — Sheikh Gumi

Kaduna-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has confirmed that the Department of State Services (DSS) invited and questioned him over his comments on banditry in the country.

Gumi said the invitation was necessary and he had a productive interaction with the security operatives.

LEADERSHIP reports the Minister of Information and Orientation, Mohammed Idris, had on Monday confirmed that Sheikh Gumi had been invited for questioning while stressing that no one is above the law.

However, while publicly reacting to the development via a post on social media on Tuesday, titled; ‘Only one person is above the law: The Innocent!’ Sheikh Gumi wrote: “Last night, I got many frantic calls from well wishers and journalists about a news item that I was interviewed by security. There is absolutely no cause for alarm.
