Police Nab Fake Soldier In Lagos

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command from the Isheri-Osun Police Division have arrested a soldier who allegedly claimed to be a Sergeant Major and fully cladded in military uniform along Fagbile Estate in Ijegun, Isheri-Osun area of the state.
The state police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the fake military personnel who had been declared wanted by the Nigerian Army.

The fake soldier simply identified as Femi Balogun was apprehended around 3 pm on Saturday at Ijegun, during a routine patrol by police officers from the Isheri Oshun Division in the community known for pipeline vandalism and a hub for other criminal activity.

He, however, said the suspect was alleged to have been on the wanted list of the Nigerian Army.
Hundeyin said, “On interrogation, the suspect confirmed the crime of impersonation.
“The military confirmed that he has been on its wanted list. The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation,” he said.
