Kano Distributes 6,500 Free JAMB Forms

Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commenced the distribution of free JAMB forms to 6,500 indigenous secondary schools students in an effort to create more opportunities of pursuing tertiary education.

The spokesperson to the governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday, quoted the governor to have stated that the gesture was a symbol of his government‘s unwavering commitment to invest in the future of the children in the state.

He said, „We believe that education is a bedrock of development and by empowering our students, our children would have access to quality education, we are laying the foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future for our dear state Kano“.

The governor however used the opportunity to elaborate on the feats achieved by his government in developing the education sector in the last ten months which include re-introduction of foreign scholarship, payment of registration fees to Kano indigenes studying at Bayero University, Kano, re-opening of 21 Skills Acquisition institutes.

Others, according to the governor, are reduction of 50 percent of registration fees in the state owned tertiary institutions, Cash Conditional Transfer to Support Girls-Child education, settlement of registration fees for NECO, NABTEB, NBAIS to mention but a few.

He also urged all the beneficiaries to make best use of the opportunity and strive for excellence in their academic pursuit saying, „the future belongs to those who work tirelessly to turn dreams into realities.“
