The sports administrator said, “This is an opportunity for players in the North to display their talents and show what they love doing. The North has a large number of followers who are in love with wheelchair basketball and I am optimistic teams will be given opportunities to fight for the available slots.

“The current board remains committed to the development of wheelchair basketball in the country. The BetKing Championship will serve as a means of revitalising wheelchair basketball in the country.

“Last year, the Federation organised a 3×3 championship which was attended by teams majorly from the South due to proximity. This time, we are taking the League to the doorstep of every region to give them a sense of belonging”

Johnson noted that officials who attended the National Technical Workshop in Ilorin will handle the officiating of the league.

He revealed that team and players’ registration must be completed on or before 6th April, 2024.
