Rivers State Police Command has decorated a total of 78 officers, who were promoted from the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police with their new ranks.
At the event, which held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Port Harcourt, the commissioner of
police in the state, Olatunji Disu, charged newly promoted officers to know that bigger tasks and better things are expected of them.

Disu told the newly promoted officers that the Nigeria Police expect them to continue to sustain the Nigeria Police.
Speaking with journalists, the police commissioner said: “Today is a day of celebration.78 personnel were promoted from DSP to SP. We have made them know that they have more job to do. Job of supervision, training and a lot of things is going to change for them. They are expected to sustain the Nigeria Police.

“Promotion is a thing of joy. Our job has to do with high ranking, respect. It is always a thing of joy.
We organised training for them before the decoration. A lot of things was impacted on them through training. Those awaiting promotion should do their job well, promotion will surely come.”

On behalf of the newly promoted officers, Fidelia Uche Agomuo, thanked CP Disu, his management team, the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the inspector-general of police for finding them worthy for promotion.
