This breakthrough was announced on Monday when the Kogi State commissioner for information and communication strategy, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo and his team made a one-day working visit to the school.

The provost of the college, Dr Olushola Jagboro, who conducted the commissioner and information officers of the ministry round the school’s laboratory, said the tricycle is an innovation and could halt the importation of Keke Napep from Asia.

Jagboro said the institution had what it takes to drive the technological advancement of the country.
She said, “As you can see, the governor has given us great support to generate innovative ideas to move our nation forward. The coming of Governor Yahaya Bello is a blessing to this college. Before his emergence as governor, this place was a forest. But today, you can see the structures we have and the giant strides we are recording in terms of building technical capacity.

“Our students and staff members are grateful to the governor for his commitment to the advancement of this institution. We are building and preparing students who will leave this college as employers of labour rather than job seekers which is the hallmark of technical education.
“You have seen the drone built by one of our students. Technology Institutes in the United States are taking a keen interest in what we are doing here. The Keke Technical is an innovation that dwarfs what the nation is currently importing from Asia. It shows what we can do when we have the right leadership,” she said..
In his response, Fanwo said the visit was aimed at showcasing the giant strides of the Yahaya Bello administration to the world.
“It is the responsibility of our ministry to showcase the giant strides of the administration to the world. What we have found here is unbelievable. It further confirms the commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello to education, especially technical education,” he said.
