Kaduna State Police Command has arrested seven suspected cultists, seized illegal firearms, and recovered a substantial quantity of suspicious substances believed to be blood.

A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson ASP Munsir Hassan said the operation conducted on April 6th, 2024, was initiated based on intelligence gathered from a reliable source and acting swiftly on the received information, police operatives moved into action at about 0300 hours after reports indicated unusual activities in the rocky and mountainous region of Dumbi along the Kaduna-Zaria expressway.

He said during the raid a total of seven suspects were arrested, while others managed to evade arrest under the cover of darkness, adding that items seized from the arrested suspects were two pistols, a 30-litre jerry can containing a liquid suspected to be blood, and a Lexus car believed to be associated with their criminal activities.

Meanwhile, the command’s commissioner of police, CP Ali Audu Dabigi has commended the cooperation and vigilance of the community in providing crucial information leading to the successful operation.

The spokesperson disclosed that efforts are currently underway to apprehend the remaining suspects who fled the scene.
