The nine-time African champions earned a berth at the Olympics for the first time in 16 years after edging past the Banyana Banyana of South Africa 1-0 on aggregate. The Super Falcons will face world champions Spain, Japan and Brazil in Group C at Paris 2024.

Waldrum demanded that his team prepare in Europe for the competition.

“My plea is to help us to prepare properly, we need to camp in Europe, we need proper training, proper transportation, we need to do things right,” Waldrum said after the game against Banyana Banyana in Pretoria.”

Meanwhile, former Super Falcons forward Desire Oparanozie has revealed that the team is not afraid of their group opponents Spain, Japan and Brazil at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Reacting to the team’s group of death, Oparanozie stated that the Super Falcons are capable of qualifying from group C.

“It’s a tough group, Spain are world champions, Japan were previous world champions and Brazil are a household name in the game,” Oparanozie said.

“But I believe in the team, we will do well at the Olympics, the girls will show what they are made up of, they will make themselves proud.”

The Super Falcons will face Brazil in their first game at Paris 2024.

The Copper Queens of Zambia also booked a spot in the women’s football event after a 3-2 aggregate win over Morocco.
