At a briefing to herald the event in Abuja, Eurobase Africa’s group chairman, Don Ekesiobi, said that the expo is in response to the President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency on food security and aims to bridge the mechanisation gap and promote sustainable food production and export through advanced mechanisation.

Ekesiobi, highlighted the crucial role of mechanisation in achieving sustainable food security while stating that it is imperative that stakeholders unite to devise immediate and long-lasting solutions to food crisis through mechanisation.

The expo is expected to provide an avenue for knowledge exchange among farmers, stakeholders, experts and to demonstrate the government’s dedication to supporting agriculture and fostering technological progress.

He said that there would be a panel discussions on addressing key challenges and opportunities in sustainable agriculture.

He said, “It is important to note that the government cannot do it alone without the support of private participation, this is more reason and the focus of Eurobase in collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to organize a 2-day stakeholders’ engagement targeted to resolve the food crises in Nigeria.

There is a need for us to come together as a nation to brainstorm and provide immediate solutions in the form of short and long-term interventions”.
