Police Arrest 15 Suspected Criminals In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command said its operatives have arrested 15 persons suspected to be members of the Shilla cult group accused of involving in gangsterism and terrorising the people of Yola and Jimeta areas of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje said the State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended residents of the state for collaborating with the police in the fight against armed robbery, house breaking and violent crimes.

Nguroje said a Point of Sale (POS) machine, dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, and cellphones, among others items were recovered from the suspects during the operation.

The CP equally commended officers and men of the Command over their commitment to duty and for creating an enabling environment.

“The sustained efforts are yielding results as another (15) Shilla Cult members were arrested during the just concluded Sallah celebrations within Yola and Jimeta metropolitans.

He listed the suspects from Yola South and Yola North Local Government areas as Usman Ahmadu (32), Abdullahi Shuaibu (18), Auwal Saleh (18), Usman Abdullahi (21), Auwal Isah (20), Muhammad Abubakar (18), Jamilu Hassan (19) and Abdussalam Abdullahi (20).

Others include Salisu Umar (19), Yahya Umaru (25), Salahudeen Auwal (18) Yusuf Ahmed (20), Jamilu Sani (18), Abraham Joel (18) and Muhammad Auwal (19)

“The CP assured that those arrested would be diligently prosecuted upon completion of investigation,” Nguroje said.
