Kebbi State government through the office of the Auditor General for Local Government Areas (LGEAs) and Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) said it has sanitised the payroll of staff in the local government areas and the local government education authorities in the state.
Auditor General for Local Government and Local Government Areas, Faruku Muhammad aka Faruku Auditor disclosed this to newsmen over the development in his office in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
“Yes, before I became the Auditor General, there was the problem of ghost workers in the local government system but now, the issues have been solved.
“We dispatched our staff to all the 21 local government areas to verify the authentication of each local government, LGEAs staffs regarding to his/her credentials or promotion, “ he said.
According to him, his office with the cooperation of workers has cleared all sorts of ghost worker predicament in the payroll of the entire local government areas LGAs and LGEAs in Kebbi State.
While thanking the governor, Nasir Idris for appointing and confirming him as the substantive Auditor General for local governments, Faruku assured the governor of justifying the confidence reposed on him.
He called on workers in the LGAs and LGEAs to continue to support the Governor Idris-led administration in its efforts to make the lives of people of Kebbi State better, particularly the local government workforce.
