The governor who spoke while receiving the Emir of Bauchi at a 2024 Sallah Durban (Hawan Daushe), said that the state government has done so much in the various sectoral services across the state.
“During the period under review, we spent over N300 billion, all done within Bauchi State. Our projects are 80-90 percent completed. So, we are very grateful to the people of Bauchi State.
“We sleep and wake up with Bauchi in our mind. During the short period of my last tenure, we built over 1,000 hospitals and clinics, and we built over 5,000 classrooms to reduce the prevalence of out-of-school children.
“We have done so much in agriculture and other services. We have built over 500 kilometres of roads. We have provided security so that people can go to the farm; people can go about doing their businesses,” he said.
He told the crowded durbar organised by the emir and held at the Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi that, “We raised the GDP of the state. You can see that the youths are employed through all the projects and programmes that we are doing.
“We have awarded contract for roads alone of over N100 billion, and of course our hospital projects are continuing, and we are going to build more schools. We have declared emergency on education. We have access a lot of funds from development partners; we are very grateful to the World Bank, the Federal Ministry of Education and other granting institutions for not leaving us out.”
Governor Bala explained that Bauchi state is always been considered irrespective of its political status, and assured that they are not going to relent on their doings for personal benefit, and go by the templates not only to learn good governance, but to ensure that the monies development partners bring are deployed for the purposes which they have been given.
He thanked all the Royal Highnesses, his father the emir of Ningi, other emirs and district heads for the visit, and assured them of readiness to work for the people, as well as deepen community relations, while working with security agencies without which, he argued, there would be no power, no authority.
Speaking earlier, the emir of Bauchi, Alh. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu said that they were at the Government House to exercise the annual tradition, and expressed delight for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
Alh. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for upgrading the palaces of all emir’s and district heads in the state, noting that the move would enhance their day-to-day operations.
