The police command in Adamawa State has in its continued war against criminal activities arrested 15 persons suspected to be involved in gangsterism and terrorism in the state capital.
Police image maker, Suleiman Nguroje said a point of sale (POS) machine, dangerous weapons, illicit drugs and cellphones, amongst others, were recovered during the operation.
He expressed the appreciation of the state commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, to the people of the state for their collaboration in the fight against armed robbery, house breaking and violent crimes by the radical Shilla cult group.
The CP equally commends officers and men of the Command, for commitment to duty and for creating an enabling environment.
“The sustained efforts are yielding results as another 15 Shilla Cult members were arrested during the just concluded Sallah celebrations within Yola and Jimeta metropolis.
“The suspects who are from Yola South and Yola North local government areas include Usman Ahmadu (32), Abdullahi Shuaibu (18), Auwal Saleh (18), Usman Abdullahi (21), Auwal Isah (20), Muhammad Abubakar (18), Jamilu Hassan (19) and Abdussalam Abdullahi (20).
“Others include Salisu Umar (19), Yahya Umaru (25), Salahudeen Auwal (18) Yusuf Ahmed (20), Jamilu Sani (18), Abraham Joel (18) and Muhammad Auwal (19).”
The CP assured that those arrested would be diligently prosecuted upon completion of investigation.
