Troops Kill 12 Terrorists, Recover Motorbikes, Weapons In Zamfara

Troops of the Nigerian Army have eliminated 12 terrorists and recovered 10 operational bikes during clearance operations in Zamfara State.

Director Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu said the troops on Monday 15 April, 2024, destroyed terrorists’ camp in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State and killed scores during an engagement.

Nwachukwu said the troops, acting on credible intelligence embarked on a targeted clearance operation to dismantle the suspected terrorists’ operational base in the town of Maru.

 

He added that troops neutralized 12 of the terrorists following a fierce gun battle that ensued with the terrorists which compelled others to flee.

 

The troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, 12 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and two locally fabricated gun after the engagement.
