The management of Ekiti United Football Club have announced the dissolution of the team’s technical crew with immediate effect.
No fewer than thirteen out of the thirty eight players of the team were also disengaged due to the poor run and performance of the team in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL).

The service of the former coach of Sunshine Stars of Akure and Akwa United of Uyo, Ayodeji Ayeni, has been secured to rescue the team from relegation.
Ayeni who will resume as the new Head Coach of the team immediately took Ekiti United to the last eight, the last time he was in-charge of the team’s gaffer.

The secretary of Ekiti United, Mr Ayodeji Olowolafe, stated this at an emergency stakeholders meeting held on Wednesday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavillion, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

The decision, according to Olowolafe was taken following recent dismal performance of the team in the league which has played 18 matches, won 5, drew 2, lost 12 and presently placed 10th position on the log.

At the meeting, the players of the team complained about poor welfare packages prior to away matches especially feeding allowances, wrong substitutions by coaches during matches, fans influence and interference on players selection for matches.

While noting that government released money to prosecute 8 out of 18 matches, they pointed out that inconsistent decisions, patterns of play , selfish interest on the path of technical crew, unfit and injured players feigning fitness prior to matches as we as lack of unity among players and technical crew were also bane of the team.
