Born into a family of seven, which comprises four girls and three boys, he was posted to Shell Canada where he completed the compulsory one-year training programme under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The experience would go on to shape a very successful future career in oil and gas before going into business.

Jekwu Onwughalu bagged a master’s degree in iPetroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University, Scotland, after which he spent 15 years in Drilling, Completions and Workover operations in Nigeria and beyond. He went on to work with several multinational oil companies in Nigeria and outside the country, such as Tecon Oil Services and Petronas Carigali, Malaysia. As a Drilling and Completions supervisor in the oil and gas industry, he masterfully managed operations, material, and human logistics, before going into entreprenuership.
