Foundation Donates Cash, Equipment To Women, Youths In Gombe

The Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation has donated cash and equipment to less privileged women and youths selected from parts of Gombe State.

 

State coordinator of the foundation, Dr Auwal Akinwumi while presenting the donations to the beneficiaries at Tumfure community of Akko local government area of the state, explained that the occupational equipment brought by the foundation included sewing machines, grinding machines and washing machines.

 

He said each of the beneficiaries would collect an equipment useful for his chosen occupation or trade, adding that about 20 persons were selected to benefit from the gesture.

 

According to him, the organisation was established in 2010 in Lagos State and Abuja, and now has branches in 34 states of the federation.
The coordinator said the objective of the foundation is to bring succour to the less privileged members of the society through financial and occupational supports.
He further stated that they collect funds from wealthy people in the society and give to the needy as alms.

A member of the foundation, Malam Usman Umar Tulmi, said this was the third project executed by the foundation in the town adding that it donated foodstuff and money to several people during the last Ramadan and sallah periods.

He also disclosed that it selected 10 orphans now in the state capital who would be granted scholarships to study from primary to university levels, and urged well to do individuals to invest in the foundation.
