South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Kim Pankyu disclosed this during a press conference in Abuja.

Besides the main summit with African leaders and the Korean government, there’ll be sideline events such as the Korea Africa Business Summit, Korea Africa Consultancy Forum, and forums on ICT, Tourism and Energy.

Discussions held at the summit, Pankyu said will help concretise measures to expand cooperation with Nigeria, and lead to an increase in joint economic projects with Africa, and Korea’s investment in African countries.

Speaking at a press conference with Nigerian media, Pankyu said no country understands Nigeria and Africa’s colonial history as Korea, which itself underwent colonialism.

Having overcome its past to achieve remarkable economic growth with the aid of the international community, Korea aims to deploy diverse knowledge and expertise via it’s traditional industries, cutting edge innovations and technological prowess to help tailor solutions to various needs of Africa and Nigeria.

On the other hand, “Africa’s burgeoning markers and ambitious development agenda offers an avenue of growth for Korea’s supply chain diversification.

“Korea will ensure that the result of discussions at the summit will lead to an increase in relations and joint economic projects in African countries,” concluded Pankyu.
