An organization, One acre Fund Nigeria, has begun the distribution of 12,000 metric tons of agricultural inputs to 60, 000 farmers in Niger State.

The country director, Adetola Adegbite, while flagging-off the distribution exercise in Maikunkele Bosso local government area of Niger State, said One Acre Fund Nigeria had been assisting farmers in Niger State with improved seedlings to address obstacles facing food production.

He said the inputs were given to the farmers at prices lower than market rates,  and warned farmers against diverting the products for sale.

He listed the improved seeds for distribution to include rice, maize, okro and pesticides, saying farmers were also benefitting from the fertilizer distribution programme.

Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Niger State,  Alhaji Shehu Galadima, advised the management of One Acre Fund to ensure that only genuine farmers benefit from the exercise.
