Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed desire to construct Baro roads leading to the Port even as he sought the approval of the federal government through the Ministry of Works for the permission to reconstruct the Lapai-Gulu-Muye federal road.

The governor disclosed this during the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of the township roads in Agaie and  Lapai local government areas respectively.

He reiterated his unwavering determination to transform the state as he revealed that the state government is also seeking the support of the FIRS/NNPC through a tax credit scheme for the road project in addition to the ones recently granted.

Bago said plans are underway for the construction of other roads in Agaie local government area including the road leading to Baro Port.

He said the government was seeking the right of way to construct Lapai-Gulu-Muye Trunk A road linking the state with neighbouring Kogi State.
