The police have arrested a 23-year-old woman, Racheal Geoffrey for burning the hands of two children of her co-wife in Adamawa State.

Racheal, a resident of Federal Housing Estate in Girei local government area inflicted severe injuries on Genesis Geoffrey (7) and Ijadai Geoffrey (3) whose mother was said to have separated from their father.

Racheal was said to have cooked rice and kept it for her husband who happened to be the father of the victims and then went out but the kids who were hungry ate the food.

Angered by the act, she tied their hands with handkerchief making them powerless and set fire to their hands resulting in the severe injuries they sustained.

The state commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, advised members of the public, particularly parents to live up to their obligations in providing necessities of life to their wards and assured of a diligent prosecution of the suspect.
