The governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti has said his administration is not a money sharing administration, adding that at the end of the administration, he would submit himself to audit.

Otti stated this yesterday at a town hall meeting at Ohafia, the headquarters of Abia North Senatorial district as part of activities to mark his first year in office on May 29.

He also warned his aides and every member of the administration to be mindful of their activities in office, saying they too would be expected to give account of their stewardship

He told the people of the district which comprise Ohafia, Bende, Arochukwu, Umunneochi, and Isuikwuato local government areas that government’s resources would henceforth be used for the state.

“People were used to sharing money. At the end of every month, money would be collected from the federation allocation and probably internally resources and there will be shared hand to hand,” he said.

“One point that I will like to make is that a lot of people do not accept change easily, but it is nothing to worry about. This is a government that has come to change things.”

Otti, who explained that the meeting had afforded him opportunity to hear their challenges first hand, assured them of the committment of the administration to address the challenges.

He extolled the people for their support to him during the electioneering period and their mass turn out for the event which mark the first of such meetings slated for the three senatorial districts of the state.

In their address read by the host, Chief David Ogba, the local government mayors appreciated the governor for the bold initiatives he had taken to reposition the economy of the state.

They noted that the meeting had afforded Otti a forum to interact and hear from the people unhindered and pledged their continued support to his administration to take the state to greater heights.
