A real estate firm, Kairos Realty Development has launched operations in Ilorin, Kwara State, promising to bridge housing deficit in the country with quality and affordable homes for Nigerians.

The managing Director, Kairos Realty Development, Maxwell David Taye in his address at the unveiling on Saturday, said the real estate industry in Nigeria has what it takes to resolve the huge housing deficit in the country through the provision of affordable homes to individuals.

Maxwell noted that although most Real Estate companies were in the industry to make profit, they help to provide genuine and affordable properties to several clients through several highly relaxed payment methods hence making many landlords and helping others to invest in the highly viable industry.

Highlighting some of Kairos Realty Development, Maxwell said the mission is to make every Nigerian a homeowner, emphasizing that the organisation is poised to bridge the gap between the middle class and the elite by providing luxury housing through strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.

He said “We guarantee value for every of our clients’ money. Kairos is willing to let people own their homes gradually with our core values which include uniqueness of value for money and timely delivery of properties. Real estate is the new oil, and we assure our clients of quality service,”

He also used the occasion to mention and addres some of the challenges faced by the real estate industry in Nigeria, such as the presence of fraudulent agents, inflation, double taxation, poor infrastructure, and unreliable power supply. He however stressed the importance of regulatory bodies in eliminating fraudsters thereby ensuring a fair market for genuine real estate companies.

Maxwell also pointed out the significant housing deficit in Nigeria, with the World Bank projecting a shortfall of 28 million homes this year.

He emphasized that neither the government nor a few real estate firms can solve this problem alone, which is why new entrant like Kairos must come into the market to contribute to the solution.

“The journey of real estate for me was really tasking, augmenting the lack of trust by influential people as a reason for difficulty in sales of properties. Kairos understands that there is a gap in the market and is ready to contribute a quota to fill that gap,” he added.

Maxwell also called on the government at both federal and state levels to pay closer attention to mortgage schemes, as inflation and unemployment continue to deprive many Nigerians of the chance to own homes. He reiterated that Kairos is not just in the business of selling properties but is committed to partnering with the government to solve housing issues across the country.
