‘We Have To Keep America Great,’ Trump Tells Voters

US President Donald Trump has given one final message for voters as they head to the polls saying “we have to keep America great.”

Trump made the appeal while speaking on call with Fox & Friends on Tuesday, claiming that the United States had moved from being a “laughingstock” under the previous administration to what he described as the “hottest country in the world.”

“We have to keep America great. We’re great now. We were terrible two years ago,” the president said.

He claimed that world leaders previously did not take the United States seriously, adding that the country had since regained international respect under his leadership.

“We were a laughingstock all over the world. The leaders of other countries didn’t even take us seriously. They thought we were fools,” Trump said.

The president also cited Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States two weeks ago as evidence of the country’s transformation.

“President Xi was here two weeks ago. He said what you’ve done is amazing. He said the change, I’ve never seen anything like it,” Trump said.

Trump maintained that the United States was now enjoying unprecedented global standing, expressing confidence that his administration would sustain the momentum.

“And everybody says that. And they say right now we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. We’re going to keep it that way and get better,” he added.

The president’s remarks come as Americans vote in midterm elections that could reshape the balance of power in Congress and determine how much support Trump will have to advance his agenda during the remainder of his term.

Republicans are seeking to retain control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, while Democrats are hoping to make gains that could constrain the president’s legislative priorities and increase congressional scrutiny of his administration.
