IGP’S Wife Donates School Material To Police School In Abuja

As part of the children day celebration, the wife of the inspector-general of police, Elizabeth Kayode Egbetokun has donated school materials to POWA Model Secondary School, Asokoro, Abuja.

The IGP’s wife, who is also the president of the Police Officers Wives Association, (POWA) hosted the students numbering over 1,000 to different games and match past, while donating books and other school materials to the school.

Speaking at the event, Elizabeth said: “we gather to celebrate the essence of childhood in this auspicious children day, officially celebrated on the 27 of may every year.

I stand before you with a heart filled with humility as the national president of the Police Officers Wives Association.

“Children day is not just another date on the calendar, it is a celebration of innocent, wonder and the limitless potential that reside within each and every child.

It is a day to reflect on the importance of nurturing and protecting our future leaders, innovators and change makers.

“As parents, it is our responsibility to create an environment where children can thrive, learn and dream without fear or limitation.”

She also stated that as part of her vision, she will assist in making sure that children of the police officers have access to quality education, good health among others basic amenities.

 

“We must ensure that every child has access to quality education, health care and most importantly love

and support,” she stated.

 

Speaking further, she said: ” I want to take a moment to honour the resilience and courage of children around the world, especially those who are facing adversity, including those who are separated from their families, those living in conflict zones and those battling illness or poverty.

 

“To all the children present here today, I want you to know that you are the heart beat of our nation the hope of tomorrow and the reason we strive to build a better world. Your laughter, curiosity and boundless energy remind us of the beauty and purity that exist in the world.

 

“As we celebrate children’s day, let’s recommit ourselves to championing the right of every child to providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to fulfill their potentials and to creating a world where every child can grow in safety, dignity and love.”
