Addressing journalists at the thanksgiving service, the spokesperson of G60 lawmakers, Hon. Ugochinyere said they came to show solidarity for the governor, and celebrate with him on his one year of transformational leadership.

He stated that with federal lawmakers across party lines attending the event was evidence of Fubara’s transformational infrastructure revolution, which has gotten serious national attention.

Ugochinyere said the lawmakers were in awe of the giant strides of the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State in the last one year, assuring that they will stand with the governor till the end of his tenure.

He commended the governor for being focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to Rivers people despite what he called ‘distractions’.

Ugochinyere said, “Governor Fubara has recorded great achievements in the areas of good governance, restoration and maintenance of peace and unity, and provision of massive infrastructural projects for economic prosperity in Rivers State one year after his assumption of office.

“Evidence of that was seen in the 20-day programme of events and activities to celebrate his first year in office, with the inauguration of the 10.9-kilometre Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo section of the old Port Harcourt–Bori road, Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Ikiri-Omoku 31 km road; commissioning of the Emohua-Terma road, commissioning of Egbeda Internal roads project in Emohua Local Government Area, commissioning of phase 1 of Port Harcourt Electrical Village and flag off of phase 2 and so many others.

“These are very massive projects which so many administrations had deliberately skipped from reaching the masses. But from the way the Governor is going, you will understand, there are other good things to come. We commend him and he will always have our support.”
