Telecommunications service provider, Airtel Nigeria, has reiterated its commitment to championing sustainability and advancing conversations on ethical business practices.

This is even as the telco has announced its sponsorship of the maiden edition of the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum themed “Leading Sustainability in Africa: Empowering Nigeria’s Green Future.”

Scheduled to take place in Lagos, the event is organised by Africa Interviews, a premier online media platform known for its positive narratives about Africa and Africans through exclusive interviews, features, and commentaries.

Commenting on the announcement, the director of Corporate Communications and CSR at Airtel Nigeria Femi Adeniran, in a press statement, on Monday, described Airtel’s support as a significant contribution to fostering sustainable practices and ethical business operations.

“Airtel Nigeria is excited to collaborate with Africa Interviews for the inaugural Sustainability Forum. This collaboration is a testament to Airtel Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and our belief in the power of collective efforts to drive meaningful change. By supporting meaningful initiatives towards Nigeria’s future, we aim to inspire a new era of sustainable development and responsible business practices that will benefit generations to come,” he said.

Some of the speakers expected at the event include executive director and chief financial officer, Providus Bank, Deoye Ojuroye; CEO, Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited, Oladapo Filani; director, Governance & Sustainability, Sahara Group, Ejiro Gray; co-founder and co-chair, Lean In Equity and Sustainability, Lamé Verre, and other sustainability thought leaders.

Attendees will gain valuable insights into innovative strategies, community engagement, and the balance between achieving NetZero and addressing the region’s energy needs.

Airtel Nigeria stated that its sponsorship of the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum is part of its broader strategy to champion sustainability initiatives and support platforms that inspire positive change.
