FRSC Commissions 316 Operational Vehicles

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commissioned 316 newly acquired operational vehicles, which would aid the operations of the corps.

 

At the inauguration of operational vehicles yesterday, acting corps marshal of FRSC Dauda Biu said the vehicles include 239 patrol cars, 49 ambulances, 23 tow trucks and five patrol bikes.

 

He said the provision of the additional vehicles will surely beef up the operational capability of the corps, noting that the recent approval for the procurement of additional 316 vehicles through the 2022 intervention fund, out of which we are inaugurating 111 speaks volume of the determination of the present government towards the eradication of crashes and fatalities on our roads.

 

On the activities of the FRSC, Biu said “in line with the contemporary trend in road safety and the giant strides taken to reposition the Corps for maximum productivity, the FRSC is deploying more operational vehicles as another attempt to enhance the overall patrol operations and to improve coverage and visibility on 204,000 Kilometers of roads nation-wide.
“It will also assist our operatives to seamlessly monitor and patrol their operating environment to further reduce road traffic crash fatality in line with goal 1 of FRSC 2022 corporate strategic goals and the vision of Pillar 1 of Nigeria Road Safety Strategy IT (2021-2030).”
This is indeed a great social investment by the current administration for the safety and well-being of its citizens.”

The secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, while speaking at the function, l said these vehicles inaugurated will boast the moral of the FRSC to carryout their duties effectively across the country.

He also charged the FRSC to live up to their billings in order to ensure proper use and maintenance of the vehicles, noting that the vehicles will improve the quality of road safety management on the country.

He urged them to deploy the vehicles immediately to the states and areas where these vehicles are needed for them to be put to proper use.

The FCT minister, represented by Dr Abdul Latif Bello said the commissioning of the vehicles today will enhance the safety of our roads in FCT.

He urged the FRSC to put the vehicles to good use as the FCT administration will continue to support the FRSC in their duties.
