The police in Adamawa State have arrested five hunters for allegedly killing a teenager in Maiha local government area of Adamawa State.
Police public relations officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the arrest to newsmen in Yola on Friday.
The suspects tortured the victim to death for allegedly stealing N20,000.
The PPRO said, “The Adamawa State Police Command on June 5, 2024 arrested five hunters for the unlawful arrest and torture of a 14-year-old.
“The suspects said the teenager was said to have allegedly stolen N20,000 in Maiha local government area.
“They are currently under investigation and would be charged to court for the law to take its course.”
The commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, condemned the actions of the hunters and warned the public against taking laws into their hands.
