The Katsina State Police Command said it has killed eight suspected bandits and rescued 87 abducted victims in the month of May.

Spokesman of the Command, Sadiq Abubakar who disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing newsmen in Katsina, said a total number of 18 cases of major crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, culpable homicides, cattle rustling among others, were reported within the period under review.

Abubakar also added that twelve cases were charged to court within the month, as a total of 69 suspects were arrested in connection with various criminal activities during the month.

“A total number of 10 suspected armed robbers, nine murder suspects, 33 suspected rapist/sodomist, a total number of 26 suspects were arrested for various offences not mentioned above.

“And, the Command has succeeded in neutralising eight suspected bandits, rescuing over 87 kidnapped victims, and recovered 150 rustle animals,” he said.
