The announcement came during a live session on Friday, where Burna Boy enthusiastically shared details about the upcoming event. “Yeah, we’re trying to do the Burna Boy Festival from the 21st to the 25th of December. We are having the whole world come to the festival,” he stated.

Burna Boy extended an open invitation to fellow artists, emphasising an inclusive lineup. “If you are an artist and I’ve ever spoken to you, just know that you are performing at my festival in Port Harcourt. Just let me know the date that’s free for you between the 21st and 25th,” he added.

Addressing concerns about artist compensation, Burna Boy affirmed his commitment to fair remuneration, independent of government support. “No worry, I go still sort. This one na me, no government, nothing,” he reassured. He also highlighted the necessity of security provision from local authorities, while emphasising the event’s grassroots nature. “Obviously, we need our government to provide security but this is just me and my people,” he added.
