Ms. Bayero, who is the daughter of the late Emir identified the Abia state governor as one the prominent personalities showing interest in her work and the life of the late Emir.
She also prayed God to bring peace to the Kano Emirate.

In a chat with LEADERSHIP Sunday, Ms Bayero said her directorial debut as a filmmaker is a story about the legacy of her late father and it is a beautiful historical account of a man who represented the Kano Emirate for five decades, which needs to be projected.

She described the life of the late Emir as being rich in lessons and descriptive of the road leading to present day Nigeria and the culture of the North.

She said, “I really hope the Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf will also help me in showcasing this great story.

As a first-time female Muslim filmmaker from the north. it’s been very challenging and I believe this complicated project is one I need to see to an end, but it can’t be achieved without the help of critical stakeholder from the Kano Emirate and the state government in funding it.

“It is a challenge since my mom is from a different region in Nigeria. She’s a princess from Edo State and it’s unfortunate that I’m been judged for being half Fulani and half Edo.

“Right now, I really need the support of the Emir of Kano, Sanusi whom I’ve met recently in Lagos along with the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti.”

Ms Bayero said, “I’ve interacted J. Martins – Otti’s S.A multiple times. He’s also deputy chief of staff – to get Otti onboard with the project.

“The governor has shown interest and I believe he would be interested in hearing me out considering the positive stuff I’ve heard and I know he has a close friendship with the current Emir in Kano.

She said, “I believe both men will be keen to hear me out. I hope I can showcase this project to the world soon. I pray for peace in Kano.”
