The National Hydro Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has advanced the construction resettlement site for the Muregi people affected by floods annually as a result of excess discharge from hydro power dams in Niger State.

N-HYPPADEC managing director, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa who led officials on inspection of the site yesterday, disclosed that there was a review by 100 percent of contracts for the building of the Muregi resettlement centre for flood victims in Mokwa local government of the state due to the current economic situation.

He said the 120 units was ongoing and 82 of the 200 units were at 60% to 80% completion stage, necessitating the review of the contract of each building upward to N12 million from the initial N6 million.
