Thugs Kill 60-yr-old Woman In Bauchi

Suspected thugs have allegedly attacked and injured a 60-year-old Safiya Yunusa, a resident of Yelwa in Toro local government area of Bauchi State, leading to her death.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the thugs broke into Safiya’s residence with dangerous weapons and injured her on the head.

Similarly, the victim was rushed to Toro General Hospital for medical attention but was certified death by doctors following a postmortem examination conducted on her.

Spokesperson of Bauchi Police Commend, Ahmed Wakil who confirmed the incident to reporters in a statement on Monday, said Safiya’s body has been released to her family members for burial rites.

Wakil said already, one suspect, Adamu Alhassan, 30, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The Bauchi police spokesman said the arrest of the suspect followed tracing of his footprint at the scene and the weapon used for the alleged crime has been recovered.

“The suspect’s footprints were identified and traced from the scene. Meanwhile, the weapon used in committing the crime was also recovered as exhibit,” he said.
