Chairman of NSE, Port Harcourt Branch, Rivers State, Engr. Isarsoari Ateke, disclosed this at the weekend when he led the executive committee of the group on a visit to the managing director of BG Technical Limited, Chief Geoffrey Onuoha.

Ateke stated that the development of local content is a key priority for the engineering sector in Nigeria, which will enhance the local production of good products and services.

She said: “NSE places a strong emphasis on promoting local content and talent. The development of local content is a key priority for the engineering sector in Nigeria, where your product and services are locally produced.”

The NSE chairman announced that the branch will be organising the local content workshop this year, and urged engineering companies operating in the state to participate actively.

Onuoha, who reiterated the company’s mandate to promote sustainable practices and upscale renewable professional engineering efforts, emphasised the necessity of collaboration to achieve these ambitious goals.

He stated that the BGT has engineers working with them, notable among them was Engr. Dr. Izionworu Vincent Onuegbu (FNSE), who, although is a Lecturer in Rivers State University, serves as consultant Coordinating BGT’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
